My sewing machine is broken. I don't know how to fix it or if it is even fixable. *sigh* I was going to hem some cloth to make an end table cover. I've been having the urge to make stuff. But sewing is out of the question for the time being and I've grown tired of making snow hats in the middle of July wishing it wasn't 100 degrees outside. I decided I needed a new project. I have a lot of useless stuff lying around. Pieces of fabric, wire, miniature clothespins....I keep thinking to myself, "what can I make out of this so I don't have to waste it, store it, or throw it away?" I recently came across our Japanese coins with holes in them and some miscellaneous beads. "Hey this might make something worthwhile," I thought. So I bought some hemp a few weeks ago and taught myself how to braid it while interweaving the beads and coins to make jewelry. The easiest craft ever. It's my new past time, as if I actually had time to pass.
